Automobiles: Engines

Over 90% of you car engine's wear occurs within the first 10 seconds of warming up your car.  Save wear-and-tear on your car's engine and make your engine more thrift friendly by not turning the engine on and off unnecessarily.

Here are some frugal tips to deal with a blown engine.

If you can't repair your engine, think about replacing it.  It costs a lot less than buying a new car.  Find a shop that will put in a used engine.  Be sure that they offer a guarantee of at least 2 years.  Replacing a vehicle engine is a very frugal way to extend the life of your car and save money.
