Automobiles: Maintenance

checking oil with dip stick in automobile engine

Save money on automobile maintenance by doing as much of it as you can yourself, and doing it on schedule.  Follow the instructions in the manual which came with your car.

If you have an older vehicle that was purchased without a manual, look it up on the internet or in the library, and send for the manual.  Your car will last a lot longer and be thrift friendly if you take good care of it.

Here is a laundry list of auto maintenance item that if you don't take care of will cost you money down the road.

- Change your oil.

- Keep your tires properly inflated and maintain the proper tire tread.

- Rotate your tires.

- Check the fluid levels in your vehicle - transmission, radiator, brakes, etc.

- Check your transmission on a regular basis.
