Carpet: Stains:  Wax Removal

berber carpet

Here is a thrift friendly way to remove wax stains from carpet.  Put a paper towel over the stain.  Then place an iron, set on dry and medium heat, on top of the paper towel.  The wax should melt and be picked up by the paper towel.

Here are some other frugal tips to deal with wax on carpet.

- Attend to dropped wax as soon as possible.

- Use a knife and gently lift up any loose wax.

- If the wax is hard, vacuum before trying to remove the stain.

- If carpet is still stained after using an iron as described above, use a little rubbing alcohol on it.  Rub gently on the top of the carpet.  Blot dry and then rinse with water.
