Save money on chocolate buying it seasonally when it goes on
sale after holidays like Valentine's Day and Easter and freezing it.
Here are a couple
good recipes for chocolate treats.
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup Butterfinger candy bar, cut into small
1/2 tsp vanilla
Sift together the dry ingredients. Cream the butter and
sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and continue beating.
Stir in Butterfinger pieces, and the flour mixture. Add
vanilla and mix well.
Drop by teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at
350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until done.
1 can evaporated milk (use 2/3 cup only)
1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 jar marshmallow cream (7 ounces)
Put the sugar, milk and margarine in a heavy sauce
pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
for 5 minutes (or 235 degrees with a candy thermometer) while continuing to
stir. Remove from heat, and stir in chocolate chips. Stir until melted.
Add nuts. Put in a buttered 9x13 pan. Cut into squares when cool.
