Christmas: Gifts

Christmas Gift

Save money on Christmas gifts by spreading out the expense.  Keep a list of the color preferences and sizes of family members for clothing and other items.  Keep track of the ages of young children.  Buy items you think they will like when you see them on sale.

You can also collect gift cards during the year from favorite stores.  If you later have something you want to buy for them, you can always use the gift card yourself, or give it to another person.

Another thrift friendly way to handle Christmas presents is to have fewer presents but make each one more special.  Have a scavenger hunt for them, and leave small items from the Dollar Store with each clue.

Consider setting up a separate savings account for Christmas.  You may need to be frugal, but you also need to be prepared.
