Christmas: Lights

Christmas Lights

Save money decorating your Christmas tree by using most of your money for lights.  You can make a lot of homemade decorations that are thrift friendly.  Anything that is shiny looks good hanging from the Christmas tree.  You can use Christmas cards, pictures of family, small toys, and a variety of craft items. Save your money for your lights.

Frugal footnotes:

Here are some frugal tips for Christmas lights.

- Try and always use LED lights.  They use a lot less electricity.

- If a light goes out on your strand, try a replacement bulb.  If that doesn't work, you can use the strand, but keep a bulb in the socket that doesn't work.

- When buy lights at a thrift store for or at a garage sale, always find a plug and check
them out before you purchase them.
