Save money on corn on the cob when it is harvested and is thrift friendly by purchasing extra and freezing it.  Freeze it whole by just removing the husk and wrapping it in freezer paper.

Here is a great frugal recipe for fresh homemade creamed corn.

 

Homemade Creamed Corn

Ingredients

1 Tbsp butter
2 cups fresh corn, scraped from the cob
3 Tbsps heavy cream
1 Tbsp water
1/8 tsp ground cloves

Melt butter in a saucepan.  Add corn, and cook until tender. 

Add the cream, water and cloves and simmer approximately 5 minutes or until the corn is soft and creamy.
