Clothing Clearout
by Nikki Willhite
Clearing out your closet of unnecessary clothing can be a
liberating process. If you have too many pieces of clothing in
your closet, you are just creating problems for yourself.
Your clothing may wrinkle easily, and you are wasting time removing the wrinkles.
Or, worse yet, perhaps you are just wearing wrinkled clothing. Then there is the
extra time trying to keep everything clean and
repaired.
Unless you are changing your clothing 3 times a day, you are
probably wasting space with items you just don't need.
When you only keep items that serve you, and spend your money
accordingly, it gives you self-confidence about how you are
running your household and spending your money. Overly full
closets are usually the result of either recreational or
emotional shopping.
When you purge your closet of unnecessary clothing, you see the
"waste", and it is a huge factor in never overspending on clothing
again.
SO WHAT DO YOU DO WITH CLOTHING THAT YOU NOW FIND UNNECESSARY?
There are many way to dispose of unwanted clothing. Here are some
of them.
- Donate them to charity. It is always a good to be generous
and give items to charity, no matter how little money you have. It
helps others, and you feel good
that you can do something to help.
- Give them to a family you know that can use them.
- Sell them on ebay. If you
are willing to put forth the effort, you can get back some of your money.
- Sell them at a garage sale.
- Sell them on Craigslist.
- Sell them at consignment stores.
- Organize a clothing swap with friends or auxiliary
organizations.
- If you sew, cut them apart and make smaller garments with the fabric.
- Cut up the garments for the fabric, and use the scrap for
hobbies such as quilting. See

"Something in.... something out."
