Doubt the Content of Your Reports
The process of credit repair involves, among other things, sending dispute
letters to the credit bureaus requesting the correction of errors. These errors
do not have to be limited to accounts you do not recognize. There are a variety
of legal compliance requirements which are often neglected. The first secret to
credit repair dispute success is a big healthy dose of doubt.
Do Not be Intimidated
Do not believe the information on your report simply because it is in
writing. There is no reason in the world that you should ascribe accuracy to the
credit bureaus. Many people are intimidated by the credit bureaus and will
question their own memory before they will doubt the veracity of the credit
reporting system. Do not make this mistake.
Little Details Count Too
Your credit repair journey will start with a careful examination of your
credit reports. Sit down with a highlighter in hand and take your time. Circle
every single thing that looks even vaguely erroneous. You can examine in greater
detail once you complete your first look, but keep in mind that even the most
innocuous items can have an impact on your credit score.
Your Dispute Letters
Once you have your list of errors ready it is time to prepare your dispute

of the three bureaus store account data in a different format. Some differences
are small, some large. In all cases the letters you send to the individual

should be simple. Dispute processors have less than five minutes allotted per
letter. They do not want to hear anything other than the essential facts. If you

Develop Patience
Now it is time for a little inner spiritual work. As you send off your first
batch of dispute letters you must cultivate the quality of patience. Breathe in
patience, breathe out impatience. The credit bureaus are huge machines. Some
dispute letters just get chewed up and spit out. If your letter is rejected, or
your dispute verified, do not take it personally. Just do it again. Have faith
in credit repair, but respect the fact that it is a numbers game.
