Frugal people shop on ebay as much as possible.  Many new items can be purchased from merchants at a fraction of what you would pay for them in the store.  This is particularly true of items that have world-wide popularity.

You can purchase new or used items on ebay.  Ebay is a warehouse of discounted new merchandise as well as a giant thrift store.

Follow all the safety rules when purchasing items on ebay, and check out the seller's feedback.  Reliable sellers know they won't stay in business if they do not have a stellar feedback section, so they are anxious to please.  They provide reliable descriptions and good pictures.  There is risk buying from a seller with a low feedback number or any bad feedback.  You have to decide if it is worth taking that risk.

Here are some more frugal tips to use ebay.

- If you have a hobby, make a few items to sell to on ebay to pick up a little extra cash.
- Try and use postal boxes for mailing items to save money on packaging.
- Buy items in bulk to save money.
- Look for unusual items to buy on ebay that may save you money.  Ebay sells many
types of discounted items, such as food, spices and gift cards.
- Again, when buying items, beware of new sellers.  Many people buy items and never
receive them.  Buy from reputable sellers.
