Hard Boiled Eggs

Save money on hard boiled eggs by cooking them correctly so you don't lose part of the egg trying to peel it.  Begin by putting the eggs in a pan with cold water.  Put them on the stove, turn on the heat, and bring them to a boil.  Then turn the heat down, and let them simmer for 15 minutes.  After they are cooked, take them off the stove, and put ice cubes in the water too cool them down.  When the eggs are cool, it will be easy to remove the shell.

Here is a recipe for great deviled eggs.

 

Spicy Deviled Eggs

Ingredients

6 hard boiled eggs
1/2 tsp vinegar
1 Tbsp pickle relish
3 Tbsps mayonnaise
paprika
salt and pepper to taste
 

To make peeling the eggs easier, put them in a pan of cold water and bring to a boil.  Then simmer for 15 minutes.  Remove from heat and  put the eggs in a bowl of ice water until cool.

Remove the eggs from the shell, and cut in half lengthwise.  Scoop out the yolk and put in a small bowl.  Add the vinegar, relish and mayonnaise, as well as any salt and pepper.

Mix well, and then return the mixture by spoonfuls to the egg shell halves.  Top with paprika.
