Save a little money on fabric purchased on the bolt by looking for bolts that are almost empty.  If there is less than a yard on the bolt, most stores will sell it to you as a remnant.

If there are 2 yards left on the bolt, you can also ask for 1 1/4 yards, and you will probably be asked if you want the rest at half price.

It is thrift friendly for you, and it saves the clerks the extra work of measuring, marking, and rolling up remnants.
