Flour is easily infested with bugs. You should never
store flour near other foods that also get bugs, like cornmeal. If you
find weevil or bugs in your flour, you can sift the flour and remove them.
A better solution is to make your flour store longer by storing it either in the
refrigerator or freezer. You can also add some bay leaves, which repeal
some more frugal tips to save money on flour.
- Buy your flour around the
holidays, when it goes on sale.
- Invest in a wheat grinder and
buy wheat to grind your own flour.
- Purchase flour in bulk from a
mill or outlet.
