Furniture: Repairs

coffee table

Save money on furniture by making it last as long as possible.  Many furniture flaws can be either disguised or fixed.  Scratches in furniture can be hidden with wood crayons or shoe polish.  Hot irons can expand wood to fix cracks.  "Patches" can be put on wood in the form of leather with decorative tacks.  All wood can be sanded, stripped, refinished and painted.

Furniture can be repurposed by cutting it down,  or adding to it.  Sofas and chairs can be reupholstered or slip covered.  Make your furniture last longer, and make your money go farther with a little creativity and work.
