Tips

Diapers - If you want to use cloth diapers, think about making them yourself. You can use any absorbent, soft material, such as knits from t-shirts, sweatshirts, soft woven fabrics or even blankets. Just sew several layers together. Diapers weren't always available in retail stores. Some of the cloth diapers available are flimsy, and don't last long. You can save money, and even make a better diaper doing it yourself.

Gates - You will find the prices much better at the Pet store for protective gates than at stores for babies.

Gift - Here's an idea for a baby gift that is original and will be appreciated for years to come.
Make a scrapbook of all the things that are going on at the time of the new baby's birth. Fashion, technology, current events...all these things will be interesting to look at in future years. Think about what you would like to know about the day and year you were born , and find articles and pictures to display those things.

Wash Cloths - If you don't have a large supply of wash clothes, now is the time to find a bargain pack of them.  Babies need constant wiping, your clothes need protecting, and it is very easy to sew a couple strips of ribbon on them to make a quick and easy bib.
