Goals:  New Year

If you want to be frugal and have more thrift in your life, take advantage of the kick-start you get at the beginning of every New Year by making at least one good financial resolution.  If you can keep to it for 3 weeks, it will probably become a habit.

Make your goals practical and attainable.  Here are a couple good ones:

- Set up a weekly automatic transfer from your checking to your savings account.

- Reduce by 1 the number of exemptions taken by your employer.  Uncle Sam will be saving your money.  This is only practical as long as interest rates are low.  If you can put that money in a high interest savings account, you would be better off keeping it yourself.

1.  Eat a meatless dinner twice a week.
2.  Sell 1 items on ebay each week.
3.  Organize at least one item in your home each week.  Find lost items and you will save money.
