Herbs

Save money on herbs by growing them yourself.  If you have a window with a southern exposure that receives a lot of sun, you can grow them inside all year long.  Herbs can be placed outside in pots or in the ground during the warmer months of the year.

Start with chives and parsley, and see the difference it makes to your food and recipes.  Grow them from seeds for more thrift savings.  Use one tablespoon of fresh chopped herbs for 1 teaspoon of dried herbs.
