Hot Dog: Buns
hot dog buns

Save money on hot dog buns by using up the leftover buns so they are more thrift friendly.  There are several ways you can use them.  Use them to make garlic bread, or dry them out, and make bread crumbs.  It is a lot of work to make bread, and baked goods are too easily discarded.

Here are some more frugal tips to save money on hot dog buns.

- Buy store brand or generic hot dog buns or shop at a bakery outlet.
- Buy fewer buns, and use bread.  The bread heel works well as a hot dog bun.
- Properly wrapped, baked goods freeze well for a long time.  If nothing else, freeze the leftovers.
- Cut each side in half, and make small pizzas.
- Save the wrapping from hot dog buns and use it to wrap your own baked goods.
