Majority of people face health problems after
they cross forty years. They become victim of diseases like arthritis, high

deteriorates their fitness level. But you should not make such a blunder, join a
fitness program exclusively meant for people over forty! This way you will stay
motivated and you will get the enthusiasm to work out when you're amongst people
of the same age group. Here are some tips which will help you to stay fit even
after forty.
Health Check up:
Consult a doctor before you join a fitness program. All fitness programs
might not suit your body type. The doctor will test your stamina level and
according advice you the appropriate exercise program for you. A medical checkup
will also help to detect any underlying physical problems which have to be
treated.
Evaluate your fitness level:
Approach a fitness trainer who will check your present fitness level and
according to that he will design a fitness training program for improving your
physical fitness. He will include some cardiovascular exercises in your fitness
routine to boost your immune system and stimulate cardiac activity in order to
stay fit.
Get Your Goals Straight:
It's important to clear about your goals when it comes to fitness programs.
Make up your mind whether you want to join a gym for losing weight or for
lowering blood pressure. There are separate fitness programs for every physical
condition and you can enroll for only one at a time. Figure out the problem you
should tackle first and likewise choose a fitness program.
Be consistent:
Once you join a fitness program you should stick with it. You be regular for
the fitness classes if you want to get the desired results. Don't forget that
keeping at it is essential to results!
Warm up before exercising:
It's important that you warm up before to begin your exercises. Warm up
exercises increases blood circulation and makes your body more flexible. Warm up
is a must for aged people who are more susceptible to injuries in the joints and
muscles.
Stretch after exercising:
At the end of every exercise routine you should perform some stretching
exercises to relax and loosen up your muscles.
Follow the right technique when lifting weights:
For performing challenging exercise like weight lifting you should hire
personal trainer who will teach the correct technique of doing it. Without a
trainer you may end up injuring your muscles or dropping weights on your feet
etc. Your trainer will show you the right procedure of lifting weights and going
by your strength he will also tell the amount of weight which is possible for
you to handle.
Get sufficient rest:
With age your body will take more time to recover and rejuvenate. So it's
necessary that you set apart sufficient time for resting and sleeping. While you
sleep, your body repairs and rejuvenates itself from within. And after a good
night's sleep you will wake up feeling fresh and energetic.
Of course you can be in shape and enjoy life well past the age of forty if
you implement the tips in this article.
