Home organization is big business.  You can spend a lot of money on home organization.  However, you can also be very frugal and do the same things.  There are many items that are very thrift friendly that work well to organize our homes.

Baskets make great storage containers, and come in all shapes and sizes.  They can be slowly acquired with thrift.  Check with your local hardware store for clean, empty paint cans.

Many empty food containers make excellent storage containers, such as plastic ice cream containers, cereal boxes for magazines, or egg cartoons for small items.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on storage.

- Always check supplies more commonly used by men for storage containers.  The organizers to store tools and fishing supplies are usually more frugal than the makeup and jewelry organizers.
- Check the Dollar Store for storage solutions.
- Save boxes that come to your home.  Fold them up and rebuild them when needed.
- Use suitcases to store items.
- Store blankets as the filler in pillows.
- Don't store items you never use.  Declutter your home.
