Opulence vs. Simplicity
by Nikki Willhite
SIMPLE LIVING, SIMPLE LIFE, SIMPLE PLEASURES
Is the music with the most notes the
prettiest melody?
Does color lose its glory when it goes out of
style?
Do 4 spices taste better than one?
Is the mightiest river the most beautiful or
the most peaceful?
Can that which is purchased ever replace the workmanship of our own hands?
Are two sofas more comfortable than one?
Are silk and velvet more comfortable than
brushed cotton or chenille?
Must a wooden floor be covered with a rug?
Can a velvet tasseled drapery evoke the
emotion of a sheer blowing in the summer wind?
Do two cars drive any better than one?
Is the biggest house always the best house?
Are three necklaces worn together more
elegant than a simple strand of pearls?
Does owning a lot of shoes make me feel
humble and happy inside?
Does a monster closet satisfy me, or leave me
wanting more?
Are good looking hands better than the deeds
they perform?
IS MORE OF EVERYTHING ALWAYS BETTER?
A single rose stands majestic against the largest bouquet.
A rainbow covers just a piece of the majestic sky.
It only takes one smile from the lips of one I love to fill my heart.
OPULENCE WEARS SUNGLASSES
I pray that I will always see all the light. Simple
living, simple life, and simple pleasures, add up to a beautiful life.
