Paper Towels

paper towels

Save money on paper towels by using as few of them as possible.  When you do use one, tear it in half for small jobs. Or buy the new half size paper towels. You can also put a roll of toilet paper under the sink for small jobs.

Buy some frugal washcloths or cut up fabric or old household linens to make thrift friendly cloths to use instead of paper towels.  Turn under the outside edges and sew them down or serge them to keep them from fraying.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on paper towels.

- When you buy paper towels, don't buy the expensive, thick kind.  For small jobs, just tear the towel in half, or buy the new smaller size paper towels.
- Buy paper towels in bulk at a store like Costco.
- Use toilet paper when possible.
