The Pepper Spray  Self Defense Weapons for All by Paul Wise A very old saying has been observing for millennia that the best defense is a good offense, and while it is usually brought up these days when speaking of sports, there's no reason why the proverb shouldn't also apply to topics pertaining to self-defense. Thus it is that pepper spray products are as true to the spirit of that aphorism as any self-defense measure available. Self-defense is always important, but possibly all the more so in these tough economic times. Not only is the best defense a good offense, but the best defense is pro-active and pre-emptive. Why, with all the liberal laws coddling criminals and encouraging their mischief, it's a mystery why self-defense hasn't come down to getting on one's knees and begging a would-be assailant for a quick end! Firearms are inevitably considered by those concerned over personal security issues, but they not only require technical training to ensure proper handling but are virtually prohibited by that very liberal climate which helps breed criminality in the first place! Pepper sprays help restore the balance of power for those of us not trained in the martial arts by offering an easy and effective way to protect the lives or property of loved ones. Pepper sprays are easy to use and hassle-free, including where liberal legalities are concerned over the rights of criminals because unlike firearms or even electroshock stun devices, pepper sprays are virtually harmless, only temporarily disabling an assailant, but with no lasting permanent damage whatsoever. Pepper sprays can stop most would-be assailants, with the possible exception at times of those addled by drugs such as alcohol. However, they do blind all (again, temporarily!) when applied in the eyes, creating precious minutes for escape - up to half an hour in some cases! Pepper sprays are simple in concept but powerful in effect. They do nothing more than project hot sauce at one's would-be assailants, which may sound rather innocuous at first but there isn't a soul alive who can stand it, especially when hit right in the eyes! Indeed, proper pepper spray application calls for targeting the very face of an assailant, rendering him momentarily blind on account of the intense irritants working on his soft tissue. The shocking burning sensation is not to be underestimated! However, no permanent damage is suffered by the miscreant (unfortunately?), and no legal ramifications attach to authorized pepper spray users. Indeed, pepper spray is legal in most jurisdictions precisely for being harmlessness in the long run!
