Save money on your roof by making it energy efficient.  When the time comes to replace your roof, choose a light color.  Dark colors absorb heat, and make your home hotter in the summer.  A lighter color will keep your house cooler.

You can save a lot of money roofing your home yourself.  If you only have one layer of asphalt shingles on your roof, you can put another layer on top of it.  Take a class at one of the home improvement stores and make it a DIY, thrift friendly project.
