Green Bean Casserole

by Nikki Willhite

Question: When is a green bean not a green bean?
Answer: When it comes out of a store bought can.

The difference between fresh beans and those that come out of a can purchased at the grocery store  never ceases to amaze me. It's like they are not even the same vegetable.

When you can them yourself, they don't get that lack of  flavor that they get when they are canned commercially.

Here is a recipe that is a lot of people's favorite for green beans. For simplicity's sake, I'll use canned beans in the ingredients. However, if you can, use fresh beans.  What a difference.

Ingredients

2 cans green beans, drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 can milk
1 can onion rings

Directions

Mix Green Beans with soup and milk. Top with Onion Rings.

Put in a casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees until bubbly.
