Save money on future sales by saving your receipts, especially on big ticket items. It is always thrift conscious to buy items on sale, but sometimes you can't wait.  Many stores have policies that if an item you buy goes on sale in the next 30 days,  if you bring back your receipt they will refund the difference.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on sales.

 

- Try to never buy anything unless it is on sale or your have a coupon.
 
- Don't forget to check stores like Costco, ebay or Craigslist for big ticket items.
 
- Inspect merchandise for flaws or defects.  If it isn't important to you, ask for a discount.
 
- Price check smaller items, including the Dollar stores.
 
- Buy used items when possible.  The best bargains and the best items often come from yearly garage sales in high priced housing developments.
