Salt: Saving Money on Salt

Salt lasts for many years.  Buy it in bulk, and store it in a cool, dry place.

Salt keep in the kitchen in a salt shaker often gets hot. Save money on salt by keeping it from clumping  in your salt shaker.  Add some rice to your salt shaker.  The rice is large enough not to go through the holes, and it will keep the salt fluid.

Preserves salad greens (dry) Soak to remove fish scales.
 
Keeps cracked eggs intact during boiling.
