Soap: Liquid

liquid soap

Save money on liquid soap by making it yourself.  Use a small bar of soap, and gather bits and pieces of bar ends from around the house.  Cut the soap into small slivers or grate it.  Put the soap in a microwavable dish, and add 3 cups of water.  Cook on high for 3 minutes.  Cool and then pour this thrift friendly liquid soap into a pump jar.

Frugal footnotes:

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on liquid soap.

- Use a pump dispenser for your soap.  Tie a rubber band around the handle so less will come out when you push on the pump.
- Dilute your liquid soap with water to extend the product.
- If you purchase retail, look for coupons.  There is a lot of competition for beauty
products, and coupons are readily available.
