Sponges

double duty sponge with abrasive surface

Save money on sponges by purchasing quality sponges.  They are more thrift friendly than the cheap ones, that fall apart.  A quality sponge will last a long time,  and is easily cleaned by putting it in the dishwasher.  Wet them, and then put them in the microwave for 1 minute.  Then run them through the dishwasher.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on sponges.

- Sponges get unsanitary quickly.  Replace your sponges with rags when possible.

- Buy cheaper sponges in packages of multiples if you plan to use and discard them.

- When buying quality sponges, be sure they can be cleaned with bleach or another disinfectant.

- Buy double-duty sponges, with an abrasive surface on one side.
