Sweaters

sweater

Save money on sweaters making them last as long as possible.  Over time, the yarn used to knit sweaters will form fuzz balls at points of friction.  You can remove these by carefully shaving them off with a razor blade.  Be careful not to cut the yarn, or the sweater will unravel.  Keep this in mind when you are shopping for thrift friendly used sweaters.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on sweaters.

- Store sweaters on shelves so they won't stretch out.

- Be careful about putting sweaters in the dryer.  Depending on the fiber , you may need to dry them laying flat on a towel.

- Buy a few sweaters in neutral colors to go with everything in your wardrobe.

- Never buy a sweater with a loose weave.  It won't last long.
