Save money buying toys that will last buying them at thrift stores.  If a toy is still working at a thrift store, you know it is going to last.  We've even purchased battery operated toys from thrift stores that are still working after 5 plus years, and we've never changed the batteries.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on toys.

- Always price check toys.  Sometimes you can find good deals on the Internet.  Other times they are over priced.

- Frequent garage sales.

- Shop the sales at discount stores like Walmart and Target.

- Do not buy toys that fall apart after a few days. No matter how cheap they are, it is a waste of money. Look for quality and durability.
