Tupperware

snappy food storage containers

When you can afford it, but some good Tupperware or Rubbermaid type storage containers for your leftovers. This is a long term investment, so buy the best you can afford. Until then, use washed and cleaned plastic containers from items like cottage cheese, bowls covered with wax paper or plastic wrap, or stretch inexpensive shower caps over bowls.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on food storage containers.

- Buy plastic instead of glass containers.  They are easier to handle, as they are lighter.

- Price check Walmart, Target, and other discount stores.

- Check to be sure to purchase containers can be put in the microwave.

- Wash food storage containers in the top rack of your dishwasher.

- Cleaned stained Tupperware with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
