There are numerous ways to be frugal when it comes to your utility bills.  There are thrift conscious ways to save money on all your utility bills.

Houses need good insulation and double pane windows to be energy efficient and save money on heat.  Even the smallest leaks to outside air can cause cold rooms and run up heating bills.

Turning down the thermostat on your furnace even a few degrees, or installing a timer to turn down the heat at night will result in saving money.

Too often water heaters are set too high, and not put in vacation mode at appropriate times.

Electric bills can be cut by turning off lights when not in use, and conservative use of appliances like the washer, dryer and dishwasher.  Energy star appliances will also save money.
