Window Sills

window with sill

Save money maintaining the window sills in your home by protecting them from water.  Older windows are prone to get moist, and the water runs down and gets the wood on the window sill wet.  Apply a few coats of wax on the window sills, and the water won't penetrate the wood.

Tips

Replace single pane windows with Double Pane windows when you can afford it.

Paint wooden window sills with semi-gloss paint to seal the wood.

Check you sills often, and if there is water, wipe it off.
