Zippers

If the pull tab comes off your zipper, you have a couple of choices.  An easy fix to save money and make it work is to attach a safety pin to where the pull was attached and use it to pull the zipper up and down. You can take it up a notch by putting decorative beads on the safety pin for a more decorative look.

Here are some additional frugal tips to save money on zippers.

- Most thrift stores have craft sections that sell zippers.

- Use 40-50% off coupons at sewing stores to buy new zippers.

- Find a seamstress to replace a zipper for a quality item.

- If you don't need the zipper, such as in a pillow, just sew up the seam.  You can undo your sewing when you need to wash the pillow covering.
